Dear Zoo

Throughout this half term, 1CC have been reading the book 'Dear Zoo' written by Rod Campbell. 1CC have has a special delivery of all the animals from the zoo and also a letter asking them to create actions to help them retell the whole story!

Our favourite part of the book is when the naughty monkey is introduced, we have been focusing on the vocabulary in the book and looking at key features such as adjectives. The children have been regularly looking through this book independently and using props to act out the story during continuous provision 

George- "I like this book because it has a fierce lion in it!" 

Milan - "I like this story because it has a puppy in it and it is cute." 

Oliver - "I love this book because I love the zoo and I like the monkey."
