Children have enjoyed sorting a variety of food into the 5 groups of foods needed for a balanced diet:
Sugars and fats,
Fruit and vegetables.
We have also been looking at the ‘Eatwell Plate’ and have been thinking about we can prepare a healthy and balanced meal using it.
We have also found out about how important it is to keep active and have plenty of exercise to keep us fit and healthy.
We enjoyed exercising in the playground and discussing the changes that happen to our bodies when we exercise.
Year Two had a fantastic time at Staircase House. They went back in time as they dressed up as characters from 1666 and acted out the events of The Great Fire of London seen through the eyes of Samuel Pepyes and his maid Jane. The children also had fun getting their hands dirty as they created wattle and daub walls, a technique used to build houses in 1666.
