Spring 1 –
Autumn 2 –
We are becoming brilliant authors using the talk for writing approach. We’ve been reading a book about The Bog Baby and have been creating our own creatures that we’d like to find in a wood. Our brains are so wonderful we’ve even been learning about possessive apostrophes.
As well as authors and mathematicians, we’ve been scientists too. If you need to know anything about materials, come over to year 2! We have been thinking about what materials are suitable for different things and why that is. We have also been trying to use scientific language too, such as; rigid, smooth, waterproof and durable, just to name a few.
Autumn 1 –
Year Two had a fantastic time at Staircase House. They went back in time as they dressed up as characters from 1666 and acted out the events of The Great Fire of London seen through the eyes of Samuel Pepyes and his maid Jane. The children also had fun getting their hands dirty as they created wattle and daub walls, a technique used to build houses in 1666.
