On Friday 8th September, Year 1 went on a trip to Styal Mill. We were very fortunate, as this trip was provided free to the school, thanks to Lottery funding for the National Trust. The children learnt about what it was like to be a child working at the mill whilst Samuel Greg was in charge. They experienced some of the jobs that children would typically have to do and learnt how dangerous working in cotton mill was. The children visited the apprentice house, saw the school room and the bedrooms and learnt about what food the children ate. The children really enjoyed their day and were keen to share what they had learnt when they got back to school.
